As part of our athlete series, we asked our O2 athletes more about how they got into fitness and what their training looks like. Here's a look at O2 Athlete, Evan Childs.

How did you first get into fitness? How has that changed over the years?

I got introduced to the weight room when I was 12-13 years old. My dad would let me and my twin brother tag along when he went. I fell in love with it in high school and carried that over into my college softball career. I graduated and found myself in the weight room alone, lifting as much weight as I could day after day. I obviously train with a bit more intention now!

Name one quality that you learned thanks to your respective sport and that you are so grateful to have learned it.

One? That’s tough. I’ve learned a ton. Hard work. Accountability. Consistency. I know that in bodybuilding/powerlifting, you get out what you put in. No filter can give you a muscular physique. You earn it, and I love that.

What’s your least favorite part about your given sport?

Coming from someone with chicken leg genetics… LEG DAY.

Go to music when crushing a workout?

I can bounce from hip hop, rap, hard rock, and even worship music depending on the day.

What does your workout schedule look like?

Currently, I aim to hit it at least 4x a week. 5x if my week allows it. PPL (push, pull, legs, repeat) is usually the route I take each week!

What does your recovery routine look like?

A nice stretch before and after my workout, with a short dynamic warm up is the go to for me.

Favorite flavor of O2 and when do you enjoy it most?

It was Orange Mango for the longest time, and then I found myself reaching for the Lemon Lime. You can’t go wrong with any of them though. I drink mine directly after my cardio sessions!
